Owen Janes works within the network marketing field and is an ambitious businessperson always seeking new, exciting opportunities. His optimistic mindset is inspiring and forward-thinking, reflecting a ‘can-do’ attitude, which, if followed, can benefit students and graduates to a level that may release unlimited potential.
“The Network Marketing profession is the business of the 21st century and is much more a lifestyle than a career.” Owen highlights the modernisation of the network marketing profession, and says that it can suit anybody who is “self-motivated, driven, fun, and open-minded…”. If this sounds like you then make the most of the prospects available and create the fulfilling future you deserve.
1.What is your full name, the company you work for and your position within the company?
Owen Janes – Professional Network Marketer / Entrepreneur/ Investor
2.In what ways does the company you work for accommodate for graduates?
Network Marketing is a profession which is open to absolutely anybody, globally with thousands of companies to choose from. It is a way for people of all backgrounds and experience (with or without being a graduate) to build a residual income stream and create a future of total freedom – time and financial freedom.
3.What is the current market like for internships, long-term careers and other opportunities? Please describe.
The Network Marketing profession is the business of the 21st century and is much more a lifestyle than a career. With social media helping people connect and network even faster globally at just the click of a button, the opportunity to build your own worldwide business, with no overheads or economic risk from just your smartphone or laptop is here. The Network Marketing market is a global, $178 billion-dollar industry in various sectors and is open to anybody who is self-motivated, driven, fun, open-minded and wanting to create a rich and fulfilled life where they can help others, be in complete control of what they earn and looking for a future where money works for them and they are not having to trade their time to make money.
4.Do you have any advice you can give to the current graduate market in your field?
Daily personal development (reading and audio) is key for growth and consistently taking MASSIVE action for success and confidence. Learn from top business leaders in the profession that you relate to and don’t worry about having to know how to get started, just be teachable, follow the system and GET STARTED.
5.Do you have any tips for students studying in your area of expertise?
As far as I’m aware (unfortunately) this line of business isn’t taught in education. I would recommend reading four books (which are the four that absolutely changed my future for the best). They are (in order);
- Rich Dad Poor Dad ~ Robert Kiyosaki
- Secrets of the Millionaire Mind ~ T. Harv Eker
- Beach Money ~ Jordan Adler
- Go Pro ~ Eric Worre
6.Any final words/inspirations for students and graduates in relation to the world of work?
JUST TAKE MASSIVE ACTION whatever path you take and give 100% in everything you do. Don’t take a job just for the money, if you have a passion, follow it as you’ll enjoy what you do, produce incredible results and be rewarded so. (The money will always follow where your passion and focus goes).
Find and choose carefully a successful mentor in both business and life. You become the average of the 5 people you most associate with… so choose your circle wisely.
My biggest piece of advice is to always look to have more than one income stream. You may feel that a steady paycheque from a job/career is all you need, however, what if you lose that job? Where does your money come from then? Job losses happen all the time (I’ve been made redundant twice) but with two other income streams, I never had to worry about how we could afford to pay our bills, rent or mortgage. From personal experience please read the books I mentioned which provide us all with so many options in life and (much more effective) income generating ideas that you may never have realised were available to you before.
Finally, if someone says you can’t-do something but in your heart of hearts, you feel that you absolutely can and that you truly want to, then go for it! We live just once, so have fun, work hard and enjoy the journey.
