Burnout is a possibility for a lot of people: overworking ourselves can easily happen when we take on an over-the-top ambitious approach. Ambition is excellent when it moves towards productive outcomes, but ambition can quite easily turn into immobilisation when the to-do list is too crowded and overwhelming.
Sometimes it can be effective to simply step away from a task and then come back to it further down the line. Come away from technology as much as you can
As fantastic, useful and exciting technology can be, it can also be very draining when relied upon on a consistent basis. The more time you spend on your phone, the higher chance of you becoming irritated. Once a person feels irritated it can be very hard afterwards to focus and stay motivated so detox from technology as much as you can to remain productive.
Balance your efforts
For example, if you want to read something…afterwards you should plan to write something. The knowledge you put into your brain needs to come out somehow, so express yourself in whatever way you need to. Usually, writing and reading work hand-in-hand, so if you like to write be sure to read, read, read.
With lots of reading, writing can become enriched and interesting. A lot of people tend to say that they don’t have time to read but even if it is for 10 minutes a day, reading is so important for health and wellbeing so do try and find time for it because even the smallest amount will make a positive impact to your life.
You may look but not really ‘see’
Enjoy your time with the people you love and with the things you love. Learn to appreciate and show empathy not only towards others but also towards your belongings. Meditation is extremely beneficial for the human mind – it allows us to shut off from the outside world and listen to our inner voice.
Learn to focus on one thing and one thing only for a long period of time. Doing this exercise will reap the benefit of heightened productivity and an increase in optimistic energy so don’t underestimate its power. Really become quiet in yourself and see what amazing things stem from doing so – usually, inspiration will spark and the light inside of you will be brighter than ever.
